It was a tough day at the office for orienteers today. The newly available area immediately north of the Waitarere village has some of the most complex sand dunes in the forest, coupled with low visibility and big marshes with narrow "land bridges" between. Karl Dravitzki from Taranaki won Red 1 in this year's first OY event, Blake Hone (no club) Red 2, and 15yo Larissa Edwards topped Red 3. Orange may have been too hard (see map notes) but Emma Wills (10yrs) made short work of Lemon - an easy yellow with taped routes. Results including the Winsplits link have been posted  NB Bill Edwards' splits were lost but his time places him second on Red 1.
