Steep and Slippery at CSW

Published Sun 28 May 2023

The sun shone on 140 orienteers at Percy Reserve today, but the recent rain had left the bush tracks very slippery. With Pippin Ford's courses extending into native bush well above the waterfall, there was a wide range of times from 20-40min (white and red winning times) to 2hrs.

Although not all students have entered the school categories, Hayley Sun NEW and Cameron Johns HVHS provisionally won the CSW junior championship; Miro Kennett WG and Lucas Mackay NEW the intermediate (tho Liam Brown HVHS posted a faster time which was missing a punch he thought he'd got). And Rachel Baker WG and Jake McLellan ONS took the senior grades, Rachel after racing back from a forest event at Scotts Ferry.

Results are at www.ohv.org.nz/results/ and on Winsplits. The CSW Points table is here.  The White and Yellow courses have been posted on the Virtual Course list at www.ohv.org.nz/about/anytime-orienteering/. The next event in the series is in two weeks at Karori Park.
