Nicola Mitchell and Liam Drew have won national titles in MTB-Orienteering, at the weekend around Christchurch. Nicola won W50 in the sprint, held on the residential red zone, now a park with only the trees and roads remaining. While Liam is the M40 Long champion after his ride at "The Willows" on the banks of the Waimakariri River.
Nicola was also second in the Middle and Long, while Sherlock Drew placed third M14 in the same races. Sherlock is technically an M12 but in the simplified grade structure there was no M12 option. Our other multiple placegetter was Glen Warner, with thirds in the Sprint and Long.
Full results are on Winsplits, and there's an OHV summary here.
