Oliver Edwards was just 4 seconds away from the winning time in tonight's "long" course in Naenae's old cemetery. The 1.4km (beeline) course took nearly 18 minutes, which indicates how tortuous the paths are - and there's quite a bit of up and down. Wellington's Don Locke who has orienteered extensively in UK, said "where have you been hiding this nice little map?"
Oliver's dad Bill was next, followed by brother Kieran. After missing last weekend due to work, Amber Riddle was the top woman on 21 minutes. Raroa Intermediate schoolmates Jake McLellan and Troy Thompson unofficially led the short course after first running the long. Results are on Winsplits, and will shortly be on www.ohv.org.nz/results/
